This is a bee book. of course. The version I have is actually a translation of the original from German.

However, this is a practical bee book that, to me, surpasses most others in practicality.

If one is to visit with other beekeepers on a forum or even at a meeting, and ask What is the best way to know what is going on in the hive before I open it?" You will get at least 80% of the time the answer of " you need to watch the entrance"

OK, what am I watching for and what does it correlate to? This book spells out in detail what you are seeing and looking for and then further laying out what it means or indicates to inside the hive.

Because, when you ask the forum or group that second question, they will tell you mostly " you will learn with experience" which is really no helpful answer.

I have a copy of this and I always recommend it to other beekeepers regardless of how little or how much time they have been at it.

Found it for sale here, and some references to it by searching. I've seen hives and honeycombs (natural and in man-made structures) on TV documentaries but never in person. Beekeeping seems like it would be pretty mellow.

Until the bees get angry, of course...

Sometimes when l`m in here l realise there are some very simple subjects about which l know very little....
like there`s Honey from Bees and there`s Treacle from.....well, Sugar l suppose. Must look into this.
Why not use Honey instead of Treacle on a Treacle Pudding?
